NgageCMS Content Management Solution
Content Management Solution
NgageCMS Content Management provides businesses with the ability to manage their content when they choose within the set design constraints, to remain on brand.
The in-built Content Editor allows users to upload and edit images within the CMS, requiring no 3rd party software.
Producing content to maximise organic SEO should be a fundamental consideration for all businesses. NgageCMS has been developed to ensure content is produced inline with Search Engine algorithms.
Everything you need to manage your website content all in one place, from editing images to editing authorisations.
WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) Editor
Editing content is straightforward using our customised 'Microsoft Word' style editor. Tables, hyperlinks, content alignment, and formatting controls are all managed within the CMS.
To ensure the look and feel is maintained, NgageCMS limits the editor to use the font, styling, and sizing designated by the Web Developer. In addition, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) is used, as in all professionally developed and managed websites, to ensure conformity of style throughout the website.
Content Widgets
Widgets can be positioned on your web page using simple drag and drop.
NgageCMS provides many pre-installed widgets that can be added to the editor and aligned left or right. Some of the pre-installed widgets are listed below.
- Email Form
- Image Gallery
- Content Block
- HTML Block
- Stock Listing
Additional widgets can be developed and added to the CMS by your developer.
Revision Control
Revert published content to an earlier version. Every time content is updated and saved, the time, date, and author are recorded as revisions. Registering each revision allows the Content Editor to revert to a previous point in time and publish a previous draft if required (Content Revision Rollback function). In addition, once an edit is saved, it is automatically set to preview mode. The Preview mode allows the User to confirm the content is correct before publishing.
Meta Items
Developers can add extra page information assigned to particular templates. In addition, items are marked as required, giving content editors advanced control.
Example: You may have a template displaying event information and require your content editors to enter essential details like location, postcode, and event date.
The following types are available:
- Asset (one asset selection only)
- Assets (multiple asset selection)
- Assets with URL (multiple asset selection)

Spelling Check
Our CMS comes with an inbuilt spell check to ensure that your content has no spelling errors. Any incorrectly spelled words are highlighted in the text. In addition, a suggestion spelling is provided if clicked.
The spell check functionality is available in several languages and adheres to the standard WCAG 3.1.2 specification. The developer can set the default language.
Auto URL Redirects
Ngage CMS provides developers with technical fundamentals to drive organic SEO.
In a market that relies heavily on SEO, our CMS provides functions that help to generate the highest possible organic rating for your website. Ngage CMS simplifies this process with our inbuilt functions, meaning the difference between a successful and unsuccessful website.
Canonical URL's
Web pages published across multiple areas of your website would typically cause page duplication issues. Ngage CMS handles this by using the 'Multisite' feature. In addition, we automatically add a 'Canonical' tag to the duplicate pages, informing search engines that the pages are duplicated for a reason.
Web pages published across multiple websites (domains) are handled slightly differently, as the 'Canonical' cannot be used in this scenario. NgageCMS automatically adds an entry to the 'robots.txt' file that informs search engines to ignore the duplicate content. Web pages that are multi-sited across domains cannot gain any search engine ranking.
Page Rename/Delete Redirects
If a web page is renamed or deleted, search engines will still index the URL within their search results. Removal of the index will be a minimum of six weeks. NgageCMS handles this by storing the old URL and redirecting to the newly renamed web page. Suppose a web page is deleted within the CMS. In that case, the User will be alerted to either 'ignore search engines' or 'select a redirect page.'
URL Redirects
Your website may be reporting 404 errors within your analytic software. For example, suppose your website was previously structured differently or used a different technology. In that case, you could have URLs still indexed by search engines or other websites linking to an old web page.
As in point 1 below, this URL would not exist on the NgageCMS system. You can add URL redirects in the settings area of the CMS to redirect the URL to a specified valid URL and inform search engines that this URL has been moved permanently.
www.domain.com?id=3
Master and Page Templates
Add content quickly with Master and Page templates. NgageCMS provides a function that allows you to change content and the design of a page quickly and easily. Your developer within the CMS builds master and page templates. These templates are easily edited.
There is no restriction to the number of master and page templates that the developer can build. Master and page templates can be used by different websites.
Multisite Management
Manage multiple sites with the same CMS portal. NgageCMS allows Content Editors to work on one or more websites. Content to be duplicated across multiple web pages without SEO duplication issues. All websites are displayed in a 'parent/child' tree for quick selection.
Sharing content such as an image across multiple sites is easy. One image (asset) can be displayed across numerous web pages. If that image is updated or edited, it will automatically publish the changes across all pages where that asset exists, saving time and money.
Content duplication across single or multiple websites can create difficulties for that page's search engine rank. Ngage CMS resolves this problem by automatically assigning a 'canonical URL tag' that advises the search engine that this content has been duplicated for a reason.
Multilingual Content
Translate and edit with ease. For your website, your developer will assign a default language. The content editor can then manage multilingual content using either Microsoft Translate or Google Translate.
Content is auto generated using the translation service. However, since a translation is not always 100% correct, you may need to edit the content.
Media Asset Library
Build your media asset library. All documents (PDFs/Word Docs), images, and audio-visual content are known as "Assets." All Assets are uploaded and saved into various folders/subfolders, as managed by the User. Asset Folders display in a tree configuration to assist locating when publishing content or E-Commerce pages.
You can upload any video/audio embed code, either directly into content/widgets or by creating a 'Media Playlist' in the Assets area of the CMS.
Linking Documents
When you upload a document as an asset, you can link that document to one or more web pages. Should the asset be edited in the future and linked, web pages will receive the updated asset.
Image Editor
The CMS has an in-built image editor to edit images for publishing. As a result, there is no need to use 3rd party editing software, removing the duplication of effort in editing and uploading images.
When an image is uploaded into the CMS, it automatically creates a thumbnail and the main image. Then, the images are resized to that specified by the developer in the CMS settings. Finally, the images can be further edited using the Image Editor.
- Crop Images - Trim away parts of the image that are not required to create a smaller, cleaner image.
- Resize Images - You can resize an image by percentage or pixel size while keeping it in proportion using Aspect maintain Ratio.
- Rotate Image - An image can be rotated 90° in either a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. You can also "Mirror Horizontally" or "Mirror Vertically."
- Colours - Alter the colour of your images with the three options: Greyscale, Invertor Sepia.
- Rounded Corners - Add rounded corners to your image to create a softer edge.
- Watermarks - Protect images from unauthorised use by adding text as a watermark, such as "Protected Document" or "Do not copy."
- Drop Shadow - Give your image some depth by adding a drop shadow.
- Canvas Resize - Add coloured space around your images, such as borders or transparent space, using the Canvas Resize option.
Image Asset Gallery
Display a folder of images in gallery mode.
Sometimes you may wish to review many images quickly. You can review all images within a folder in "gallery mode" with the gallery view. Filter your images to search for your desired image/s promptly.
Friendly URL's
Search Engine Friendly URLs are generated automatically. Pages, products, and assets are assigned a unique descriptive URL, known as 'URL re-writing. This automatic process allows search engines to find relevant keywords within the URL.
Some systems provide page URLs (as in point 1 below), using the 'id' to show the relevant page.
Example: 'About Us page
- www.domain.com?id=3
Document Management
Fast and simple document management. The "tree" folder structure allows Content Editors to store and retrieve Word and PDF documents easily. In addition, the folder structure will enable administrators to assign permission levels to various content editors.
With NgageCMS, Content Editors can upload multiple Word and PDF documents at once.
The have unlimited folder and sub-folder structure and all Documents are assigned a "friendly URL" that, if necessary, can be marked as "Members Only" for security.
CSS Classes and Fonts
Maintain the consistent professional appearance of your web presence. A web developer assigns CSS Classes and paragraph formats for each website developed on the NgageCMS platform. This ensures that multiple content editors maintain the look and feel of the website.
A developer can alter HTML text and heading tags. A content editor can select from a drop-down menu the desired paragraph format.
A web developer sets the font style within the Website CSS Style Sheet. Therefore, content editors cannot alter a font style without engaging a developer to apply a new Custom CSS Class.
Content Locking
Locking content prevents two or more editors from working on certain content simultaneously.
Only one person can edit a piece of content at one time. When an editor selects the content they wish to edit, it is 'checked out' with a button click. The edited content can be 'checked in' either in preview or live mode, at which point another editor could 'check out the content.
This feature prevents Content Editors from accidentally doubling up and ensures that your website will remain consistent and professional in appearance.
Authorisations
A Web Administrator has complete control over publishing content to specific website areas.
The CMS Administrator can assign user group permissions to all areas of the CMS with the following options:
- Read (will give the CMS user read-only permission).
- Write (will provide the CMS user permission to edit items).
- Delete (will allow the CMS user to delete items).
- Auth (if unchecked, any content is moved to an authorisation state when published).
For organisations using Windows Active Directory, the CMS will sync user information.
Web Users
Passwords are stored in an SQL database and are encrypted using salted password hashing. The CMS password retrieval process uses a two-step process to verify the User correctly. First, the account will be locked out if a user fails five times to log incorrectly.
Suppose your website has a logged-in account area. In that case, you can assign customised content, links, and assets to specific users or groups.
